IF you are new to any series yo dont start at the latest book , you start at the begining .
I dunno, I think it is too late to try to make us give a crap about any of the Incarnates...
Claiming the Sylvanas book was somehow more necessary than this one to understand the current story is hilarious. It really didn't give any more information than the game other than generalized feelings. Nearly everything in the Shadowlands book was explained in game just not as in depth as the book did. You knew why she was working with the Jailer, just didn't know what led her there very specifically.
That's alot of pillow talk to basically admit it's full of Retcons.
I am afraid to like any lore or history now because i expect to be told "but thats just one view" and have it changed later.
Yeah, whatever they do they can't do it right for you guys ...If the book is "too important", people riot.If the book is not important at all, people riot (with right, because I dont want to spend money on a book that is a lame side story that has LITERALLY NO BEARING ON THE EXPANSION like the $%^&ty shadowlands prequel novel). If the book has no new information, people riot.If the book has retcons (something you HAVE to do sometimes in a story if it gets too big ... even GRRM did it with the Valyrions), people riot, even if the retcons make the story as a whole better?I can't wait for the 31st so I can read the awesome book myself!
WoW story and lore has always been and will always be light popcorn flick level of quality. It’s campy and dumb, and it’s best enjoyed that way. It’s always been kind of bad, so you shouldn’t get too hung up on retcons and inconsistencies. Still, it can be fun, just like other campy entertainment can be fun to consume occasionally. I know some of the early Warcraft stories (Warcraft 3 mainly) have their ardent fans, but if you go back to the material without a nostalgic emotional connection, the quality that some folks espouse is very much not there…
1/10 dont buy.
