This is one silly excuse of an programming programming and planning mess-up....
But ... why ? Like cool of you to explain. But you didn't explain. Ok it loads other players' stashes, but why ? It's like a child, yes it does Jimmy, it does, ok, now why does it ? And it makes so much sense, explains why I get sudden terrible spikes of lag as soon as a player gets nearby. So good for a open world multiplayer Diablo.
good ol' blizzard spaghetti code! remember how big of a hassle it was for them to add just 4 extra bag slots to your main bag in WoW?
That sounds like a dog#$%^ dev excuse, only reason why it would be a perf issue is if it's made terribly in the first place

Well that’s an explanation. It’s a weak excuse but I suppose if it works that way it would be a problem. But… why?
Holy sh#t. This makes absolutely 0 sense. Why would they force-load inventory and stashes of players that you haven't inspected, based purely on their proximity? If their coding is THAT spaghetti barely 1 big patch into the game, then this doesn't sound promising.
Looking at POE where you can have infinite amounts of tabs with no impact
So this issue is being caused by the other players wandering your game world......its almost like people have been warning them about performance issues with other players since Alpha and instead they doubled and tripled down on this MMO-esc design that has now hamstrung there ability to do basic inventory modification.
Okay but why though? Why does the player's stash state need to be loaded by players that they encounter in the wild? Why does the player themselves even need to do load it if they're not at the stash? This is such a code smell.
I can't even begin to speculate why a player's stash would function this way. What does my stash have to do with some other player over by the portal?
No wonder the game has crazy FPS stutter whenever other players show up and get loaded. I wish Blizz would spend more time performance tuning Diablo 4. On PS5 in beta, the game felt very smooth, but on PC, even now, it runs very poorly. Constant FPS stutter even on good hardware in towns or when other players get loaded.
Why i gods name must my version of the game know what other players have in their stash? its stupid. Beyond belief. Even with crossplay off, its horrible right now.Maybe ( i got this idea from youtuber) make a new "stash" where only in numbers ( not in items, think like the herbs/ore) aspect powers you pull of gear are stored. So when you use a aspect on gear you select a aspect. And then you get a drop down list of all the stat version you have from it. So , per example. You have 10, x amount of barrier for x amount of time. You have a list with 100% barrier for 100 seconds. Or more version of 10% for 60 secs. So you can choose. Do i burn that 1 perfect aspect on this 1 piece of gear. Or do i throw a trash one on.
Sounds like a skill issue.
That.. is a pretty bad beginner programmer bug. Holy cow! They need some experience coders on their team to perform code review before checking it in. Ouch.
so can you guys just learn to bring back the private game mode
I find it really hard to believe that they were this incompetent...
So basically this means their intent was to always have 4 stash tabs be the maximum. On top of that, they can't figure out how to not tell the game to load everyones stash? I mean obviously there's a trigger in place to load inventories and stash tabs, maybe for trading purposes, but why not just activate that trigger when a trade is requested?I mean, this is just astounding how incompetent the programmers and the foresight of the team is.
