It's been a while since Cataclysm but I think this might be one of the better characterisations of a former cult member in WoW. I don't really remember if any twilight cultists ever felt remorse even though it makes a lot of sense that the Twilight's Hammer would be preying on the weak and vulnerable.Hell, while it's annoying it wasn't said outright, I feel as though most of the Primalists in DF are merely former Twilight's Hammer cult members who were manipulated/convinced to rebrand as the Primalists by that one Grimtotem dude.
Really? Another faction of evil people in WoW who can’t have their members be evil for the sake of being evil? Why do they have to have some sort of trauma, guilt or second guesses about what they’re doing?
that seems pretty dumb, ngl. imagine if a paladin said "after a traumatic event i could only cast void. so i joined the twilight cultists because they seemed like reasonable, trustworthy dudes"it would have made more sense to let the evil faction be evil. "yeah, after teldrassil my loved ones burned, so i wanted to bathe the world in fire. now that ive calmed down i realize thats a horrible thing to do" would make a ton more senseits incredibly ironic that all of these "forgive evil villains plz" quests and dialog options have popped up after blizz got accused of... being evil. nah sorry im not forgiving them
Did they fire all their writers and start using ChatGPT to make WoW Lore from here on or what? This sounds so dumb!
Give Night Elves players this skin Blizzard!P.S. I guess story cannot be more stupid than Night Elves Dark Rangers joining the Horde on their own will. So, those Druids of the Flame after Teldrassil is more-or-less ok.
I don't understand the complaints here, this shows something that really needed to be shown: Night elves losing faith in the old ways when the old ways (Among which goddess-turned-dozy-idiot Elune) fail them in a catastrophic way."Evil for the sake of being evil" is boring Saturday-morning-cartoon stuff, and we've had plenty of that already, as long as we don't spend weeks playing therapist for them like we did for the dragons, (former) villains with motivations are more interesting than "Mwahahaha! I'm evil for the lolz!" ones.
Can we stop pretending monsters are nice Eradar druids of the flame we should kill them all.
" It is the same hubris that cost past generations their immortality." This sentence is not true, the Kaldorei sacrificed their immortality to save the world from the Burning Legion and Archimonde. There is no "hubris" that would have cost the Kaldorei their immortality. The Kaldorei who showed pride were the highborn, who had nothing to do with the Kaldorei's loss of immortality at the Battle of Mount Hyjal. There was already a similar comment in Darkshore of Cataclym where a Kaldorei said that it was their "pride" that led them to be killed by Deathwings, even though it wasn't.
The only problem I have with the timing of this is that, by my (flawed) calculations, Nordrassil is “destroyed” in the year 21, which is when the Night Elves lost their immortality. Dragonflight is currently in the year 40. Elves still live an extremely long time, and per Blizzard have lifespans several thousand years, probably as long as the High Elves and their derivatives, which can be almost 8,000 years if not more. This would make current Night Elves born after Hyjal something like 20 years old. Now, I do not ascribe to the idea that longer lifespans mean that the race basically ages longer. Rather, it makes more sense that a long-lived race may achieve fecundity at a later point in life, and that cultural milestones would be paced accordingly. I just don’t think enough time has “cooked” for there to be this generational gap, as we would naturally have between those who recall life before the War of the Ancients and those born during or after where all they knew was life within the forest: a life informed by the Night Elf commitment to Nature and the Emerald Dream.I get that Blizzard wants to introduce a “younger” generation, but they keep forgetting that their elves are long-lived and 20 years really isn’t that much time in the grand scheme of things. To copy from Night Elf Roleplay https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/guide-night-elf-roleplay/22027
Edit: This was a duplicate post due to a twitchy click. My apologies.
I want them in Alliance but I think its a little early, they need to redeem themselves, they cant be accepted by completing 1-2 quest...We need complete quest line.Man'ari quest line is short I don't want same treatment for Druid of the flame.Eredar havent choice to join the Legion, they die or they join.Druids are just sad and desperate...like Night elf forsaken...
Ngl this is some pretty bad writing here. Why exactly should we hear these out? this is the wow equivalent of a terrorist. I don't care if they regret their decision, they joined a cult that exists to incinerate everything and everyone. It's not like the druid of the flame are a new threat emerging, we know very well what they've done and what they are willing to do. "I want no more part in senseless violence" Weeell unfortunately that's not how things work. You don't get to wreak havoc then decide to dip when you've had enough. Where are the consequences?Getting kinda tired of these juvenile 'wholesome' forgiveness storylines littered all over dragonflight.
